Fundraise for us

If you would like to fundraise on behalf of Welfare Association, here are some tips to get you started.

1. Choose an activity and start planning

Here are some ideas of things you could do:
  • Sponsored Challenges: Run, Walk, Cycle, Swim, Fitness, Dog Walking, 24-hour Challenges, Give Something Up, Litter Pick
  • Events & Collections: Quiz, A Sports Match, Coffee Morning, Cake Sale, Afternoon Tea, Dinner Party, Donations for Your Birthday, Wedding Gift Donations, Fancy Dress or Dress Down Friday, Bag Pack at your supermarket, Litter Pick, Raffle
Once you have chosen your activity, you might need to think about things like when & where, a venue, equipment, permissions etc., all the things you will need to do to make your event a success.

2. Contact your friends, find supporters, spread the word, and let us know

Whatever your activity is, you will need to decide who your supporters might be and reach out to them. People can’t support you unless they know about what you’re doing.
If you have chosen sponsorship this might be friends and family, people you know and can ask directly. If you are hosting an event, you may need to think about posters, flyers, social media, in order to raise awareness and let people know the details so they can attend.
One thing you will need to do is prepare for collecting funds. The best way to do this is using our Sponsorship Form, if your supporters fill this in and tick Gift Aid it will boost their donations and the funds you raise by 25%!
You could also start an online fundraising page on GoFundMe, Crowdfunder, or JustGiving to help you. It’s a simple and easy way to streamline the process and promote your event, and JustGiving will handle the payments automatically for you. See the link below to find more information and our page.
Finally, let us know! It’s fantastic to hear about your efforts, and we will offer what help we can in spreading the word and supporting your event.

3. Have fun!

Enjoy your event. Any amount you raise is a huge help and makes a difference. We are very grateful for your efforts and support no matter how much you raise. The most important thing is to enjoy the event. Make sure to take lots of photos and videos so you can share what you’ve been up to with us and your supporters.
* During your fundraising, don’t forget to ask your supporters to fill in your Sponsorship Forms with their details – this will boost their donations and the funds you raise by 25%!

4. Send your proceeds

  • By post:
The best way to send us the funds you have raised is by post. This way you can send us a cheque and all of your completed sponsorship forms at once. Without these forms we can’t boost your donations by 25%!
  • Online, bank transfer or by phone:
You can also send us the funds you have raised online through the website, bank transfer or by phone. However, we will not be able to claim Gift Aid on these donations unless you enter the donations of each supporter individually AND send us their completed sponsorship or Gift Aid Forms.
* If you choose to send your raised funds by post – together with any completed sponsorship / Gift Aid forms, we will do the admin for you AND boost your Gift Aided donations by 25%!
  • If you chose to use JustGiving, this will all be done for you automatically, no need to worry.
That’s everything. If you decide to fundraise on behalf of Welfare Association, thank you very much from all of us for your time, efforts, and support. You’re really helping us to make a difference.
