The Welfare Association (WA) was registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales in 1993 (Registered charity number No. 1020238) and works to support some of the most marginalised Palestinian families and communities in the West Bank and Gaza and in the refugee camps and gatherings of Lebanon. Our international development and emergency relief projects are funded through the EC, DFID, UK trusts, foundations, British public and through fundraising events.
Together with local partners we work with the most vulnerable Palestinian communities in the West Bank and Gaza and in the refugee camps in Lebanon to overcome poverty, in several ways:
Our work is focussed in the following key areas:
Everyone is equal with the same fundamental rights (to life, security, a sustainable livelihood and to basic social services, etc.)
Palestinian communities are denied their rights, and face continued loss of livelihoods and basic services leading to increased levels of poverty.
Empowerment: We empower communities through partnership, programme support and capacity building.
Commitment: We are committed to improving the lives of the most vulnerable Palestinian communities.
Accountability and transparency: We are fully accountable to our donors, our supporters and to the Palestinian communities we work with.
Please help us to provide families with warm blankets, winter clothes and Covid-19 hygiene kits to protect them from winter illnesses and coronavirus.
